Canada offers Caregiver Programs for people who want to work as home child care providers or home support workers and eventually get Permanent Residency (PR).

These programs are managed by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Current Caregiver Programs

1.Home Child Care Provider Pilot

  • Take care of children at home
  • NOC: 44100

2. Home Support Worker Pilot

  • Care for elderly or disabled persons
  • NOC: 44101

Eligibility Requirements

  • Job offer from Canadian employer
  • IELTS (CLB 5 level – basic English)
  • Education (minimum 12th + diploma preferred)
  • Relevant experience (caregiving / nursing / support work)
