Types of Work Permits
1. Employer-Specific Work Permit
- Work for one employer only
- Requires job offer + LMIA

2. Open Work Permit
- Work for any employer
- No job offer required
👉 Available for:
- Spousal Open Work Permit (SOWP)
- PGWP holders
- PR applicants (BOWP)
What is LMIA?
LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment)
👉 A document proving that no Canadian is available for the job
- Approved by Employment Canada
- Required for most employer-specific permits
